Frequently Asked Questions

Touch-up Policy for Permanent Makeup

After complimentary touch-up, if you require a touch up within a year of receiving the service, it will be 150. If its after a year but within 3 years, the cost is 150 per hour. After 3 years the service will cost full price.

Are the pigments safe for sensitive skin?

The pigment used for permanent makeup is a vegetable extract containing a low percentage of tattooing ink.  The colour in the pigments often contains the same colouring that is edible goods.   It is FDA-approved and tested, an iron oxide that has been used in the cosmetic industry for years. This makes it suitable for even the most sensitive skin. A patch test is available free of charge for anyone who has a concern.  SMP pigments are much closer to actual tattooing pigments/ink which do contain more iron oxide.  All are safe and FDA-approved.

How long does the colour last?

That depends on skin type, skin quality, oil content, maturity of the skin and of course life style. This also depends on the pigment shade used and technique of deposit of pigment into the skin. On average it last approximately from 1 to 5 years for lips, 2 to 8 years for brows and 2 to 5 years for scalp micropigmentation.

Are there any health risks regarding transmittable diseases?

All materials used are new and one use only in it's pre sterilized packaging and disposable to ensure health and safety for everyone. It is extremely important to have the procedure done in a setting where high standards of  health and hygienic precautions are practiced. However, if you have a history of cold sores, you need to inform Natural Permanence prior to the lip liner procedure as there are some pre treatment that will need to be done.

Will scalp micropigmentation (SMP) blend with my existing hair?

When performing SMP, we usually cover a much larger area than is actually currently needed. This ensures a more natural blend by not having any harsh differences but rather a smooth transition. We have to consider the age of the client, hair loss pattern and reason for hair loss to determine the area that allows for any future hair loss that may occur.  In some cases we can blend into the hair with no obvious lines like when doing density but in other cases it's best to have the hair short as possible.  This is all determined during the consultation.

(SMP) How long until I can ...

Have my next session? 10 - 14 days between sessions is optimal to fully heal for the best results

Wash & wet my head? After 3 days (no hot water) shampoo gently

Shave my head with clippers? After 4 days

Workout? Light exercises after 3 days (no sweating), usual routine after 7 days

Wear a hat? Immediately, there are no issues with wearing a hat.

Colour my hair? Initially, 2 shampoo washes before the first session. No sooner than 3 weeks after

Can SMP be removed?

Yes, it can be removed with laser tattoo removal.    This is and can be expensive and something we all want o avoid at all costs.   To prevent a person from having to do this in the first place is to go slow and accurate when performing SMP as to not have a blow out or blotchiness on the scalp.        Laser tattoo removal is not a service offered at Natural Permanence.
